E&I Phonics and Reading

Our 2nd hour is when we introduce the students to one of the most important aspects of English i.e. pronunciation. To achieve this students need a good grasp of the phonetic sounds of the English alphabet. Phonics lays a foundation for each of the recognised 4 skills of the language leading to a higher level of fluency.

The reading elements of the course have been developed to run in line with Oxford Reading Tree's Floppy's Phonics. The course addresses the transition from the phonics sounds to word building and finally reading fluency.

This course is used in over 130 countries including some of the reputable international schools in Thailand as well as in 80% of the schools in the UK.

"Floppy's Phonics stories enable your children to improve their word recognition skills and language comprehension. They enable teachers to build their pupils' confidence by providing opportunities to practise decoding skills within a familiar setting."
